There is a $75 fee and an application form. It is helpful if you can tell them whether or not there is a telephone pedastal on your property.

Blanca Telephone also provides internet service through JADE COMMUNICATIONS. High speed DSL service is available.

ROADS

All of the roads (except driveways) in the Ranches are county roads and are regularly graded and maintained by county road crews. During the winter, roads serving full-time residents are plowed for snow as necessary.

For most areas of the ranches, owners can contact the Fort Garland Shop at 719-379-3446 for grading, snow road repair issues or to replace road signs. Owners with property on the Southernmost regions of the Ranches should contact the San Luis Shop at 719-672-3613.

A completed application is required, including Unit, Block, and Lot number, as well as the physical address of your lot.

Make sure all of your corners are clearly marked.

NOTE:  All power extensions in Costilla County are now placed underground, except when there is a variance granted by the County.

County Permits:

Costilla County Zoning regulations require that all construction, water, and septic projects have a PERMIT. Project permits can be obtained at the Planning and Zoning office, 400 Gasper Street, P.O. Box 130, San Luis, CO,  81152, Attn: Matthew Valdez. Phone: 719-672-9109
